moa Studio is a DESIGN AND research studio founded by two sisters.

We dream big with design and dig deep with research.
Rooted in real people’s stories and experiences, we create strategies that solve dilemmas, empower communities, and move ideas forward.

Anja weaves together stories, systems, and strategy.

With a background in anthropology and human rights, she’s spent the last decade championing community-led change, leading projects in humanitarian and development spaces. Whether it's crunching data or amplifying community voices, she lives where analysis meets action.

Using mixed methods like interviews, surveys, safari observation, focus groups, sense-making and design sprint workshops, GA and testing, we decode what people want and need.

Our UX practice combines product design, service design, design thinking, research and experience strategy, all with a relentless focus on the people we’re designing for.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

From flyers, banners, and brochures to technical booklets, policy reports, and advocacy materials, we create design that speaks with purpose.

Beyond print, we bring ideas to life in the digital space: social media graphics, branded content, digital campaigns, and full visual identities.

Whether on paper or screen, we combine creativity with strategy to deliver design that catches the eye, packs a punch and is impossible to ignore.

Through data visualisation, creative direction, and thoughtful layout design, we transform information into experiences and stories into impact.     Slovenian Railways: Sustainable mobility

    All-in-one journey planning app for Slovenian Railways. Whether you're heading to work, exploring a new town, or planning a cross-country adventure, the app lets you combine trains, buses, bikes and more, with real-time updates, pricing, and easy route planning. Sustainable travel, made simple.

    In collab with mentors Miha Klinar and Luka Mali, and team members Anton Klemen, Vid Lebič, Vita Rau and David Valič.

    ELAN: Ski rental service

    In collaboration with Elan, the iconic ski manufacturer from the Slovenian Alps, we reimagined the ski rental experience. Backed by research and rising trends in ski rentals, we set out to design something that made renting skis not just easy, but part of the adventure. The solution: a network of self-service rental stations placed right on the slopes. Clear instructions, instant setup, zero hassle — just more time to enjoy the ride.

    What design can do: Climate Action Challenges

    When people think about shifting to a circular society, they often see only the hurdles: too complicated, too costly, too late. But we believe in a different story, one where giving back, buying local, and choosing wisely aren't sacrifices, but steps toward a more fulfilling world. We set out to find and celebrate good local examples, such as businesses and practices already showing that a better way is not just possible, it’s already happening. Brief available here.

    PHOTO EXHIBITION OF STORIES: BETWEEN MEMORIES

    Since November 2022, the photo exhibition Entre Memorias has been open at the Salón del Nunca Más in Granada, Antioquia. The exhibition is a tribute to the strength and resilience of women who have lived through unimaginable hardship, and still chose to share their stories. The stories that emerged in our conversations reflect more than personal memory. They carry the weight of ongoing violence. These coexisting narratives invite dialogue between what’s vanishing and what still lives on.

  • Food blog: spice & story

    The goal was to create a playful and minimalist website, but also enjoy playing with vibrant colours, bold typography and elements. Pairing red and pink created a minimal but striking palette, spiced up with vibrant photos!
